Jess & Harry’s London Wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall
A London wedding, a Chelsea engagement shoot, and two people I became slightly obsessed with
I actually got to know Jess and Harry a little before their wedding.
We spent an afternoon wandering around Chelsea for their engagement shoot, talking about their life in London, their families, the buildings we liked, and the fact that they cycle everywhere.
They also introduced me to Knoops, which I had somehow never tried before.
Anyway, I’m now obsessed with them, so I blame Jess and Harry entirely for that.
By the time their wedding day came around, it was just really lovely seeing them again.
Getting ready at The Landmark London
Jess got ready at The Landmark with her mum and sister, and one of my favourite things about the morning was how gentle they were with her. There was no huge rush or chaos. Just the three of them quietly looking after Jess while she got ready. It was very sweet. And those are the moments I love photographing most during the morning. Not necessarily the big, obvious moments, but the little bits of care happening around them.Walking into the ceremony together
But one of my favourite parts of the whole day was actually how Jess and Harry entered their ceremony.
Together.
Usually, one person is already waiting at the front while the other walks towards them.
But there's something about a couple walking into their wedding side by side that I find ridiculously romantic.
Maybe it’s the romantic in me, but it felt like such a little statement.
Like:
we’re doing this together.
And I loved that.
Champagne, family and a little bit of London
After the ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall, they had champagne with their families before we headed back to The Landmark for photographs. And honestly, The Landmark is one of those places where you really can't go wrong. Beautiful people. Beautiful London. Beautiful light. And two people who were very easy to photograph because they were just completely themselves. And then there were the photographs...
This is usually the part couples worry about.
What do we do now? What do we do with our hands? Where do we look? Are we meant to be doing something? Do we just... stand here?? 😂
And honestly, most of the time, I’m not really posing you.
I’m putting you somewhere because the light looks good, giving you just enough direction to feel comfortable, and then letting you settle into each other.
You relax. You get closer. You flirt a bit. You laugh.
You forget about me for a second.
That’s the good stuff.
My job is to create enough space for you to actually come into yourselves in front of the camera while I’m quietly paying attention to the light, composition and all the things you don't need to be thinking about.
You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to know what to do.
Just be together. I'll take care of the rest.
