Ava and Jack’s Oxford Wedding

These two went on their first date and ended up spending the entire day together. Then they brought their second date forward because apparently, waiting to see each other again was simply unacceptable. 🥹

They’ve been inseparable ever since, and getting to photograph their wedding was such a lovely way to see their story come together.

Their day was filled with lovely people, thoughtful little details, and plenty of moments that felt completely them. From emotional tears during the ceremony to wandering around Oxford and getting a little creative with the portraits, there was so much to love about this one.

The People and the Little Details

One of my favourite things about this wedding was the people.

Ava had friends she’d studied with at Oxford who had since scattered all over the world, all doing wildly different and interesting things. Jack’s friends were just as fascinating. I had some genuinely brilliant conversations that day. What a lovely bunch of brains.

There were so many thoughtful details, too. The teddy bears they bought on an early date came along for the wedding, and Jack’s mum walked him down the aisle with a locket containing a photo of his late dad, sent by a friend who couldn't be there.

And Jack? In his feels for the entire ceremony, putting everyone else in theirs too.

Exploring Oxford Together

Three venues, a pub lunch (very British, tip top), and portraits around Oxford before the celebrations continued at Balliol College.

Ava is a photographer herself, so we got to properly play with the portraits. We even rearranged half the furniture at the Randolph Hotel.

All very normal behaviour.

But that's what made it so much fun. We had the freedom to experiment and create something a little different, with Oxford becoming part of their story.

Dinner at Balliol College

The day ended with dinner in the hall at Balliol College, which was giving Hogwarts in the best possible way.

Looking back, it wasn't just the beautiful settings or the portraits that made this wedding special. It was the people, the little stories behind the details, and all the moments that made the day unmistakably Ava and Jack.

The kind of wedding that reminds me why I love doing this in the first place.
